I'm a third-year undergraduate in Applied Chemistry at XJTLU, where I work in Dr. Qiuchen Dong's research group on electrochemical biosensors. My current focus is the MCH-ol dilution strategy for mixed SAMs: by co-adsorbing a short hydroxyl-terminated diluent with the capturing thiol (11-MUA), I can suppress 3D cluster growth and force a uniform 2D monolayer — a 5× improvement in inter-electrode reproducibility on Au working electrodes, with 6× faster SAM formation.
Previously I developed a dual-modal EIS + OD600 method for E. coli K-12 on screen-printed electrodes, and I am the co-founder and R&D lead of AquaSense, a start-up translating that sensor into a field-deployable water-quality platform.
Outside the lab: football (Arsenal, patiently), long walks, cooking, and a growing collection of headphone recommendations I'm happy to argue about.

Mixed SAM-Modified Electrodes for Improved Cortisol Immunosensor Reproducibility

- Designed a controlled single-variable experiment comparing mixed SAM (11-MUA + 6-MCH-ol, 1:10 mol ratio, 12 h) vs. single-component MPA SAM (72 h) on Au bulk working electrodes — cleanly isolating the MCH-ol dilution effect from MUA-density confounds.
- Independently performed all wet-lab work, EIS characterization (0.1 Hz–100 kHz, +0.17 V DC, Randles + CPE fitting), and 8-concentration × 3-replicate cortisol calibration (0.1 ng/mL – 100 µg/mL) across 4 independent electrodes.
- Built an end-to-end analysis pipeline (xlsx → Python → visualization → PDF) and transparently reported a worst-case R² = 0.69 alongside the best-case R² = 0.984 — keeping calibration-rule choices auditable.

EIS + Optical Dual-Modal Detection of E. coli K-12 on Screen-Printed Electrodes

- Cultured E. coli K-12 in LB medium; built a semi-quantitative dual-modal cross-validation by simultaneously acquiring EIS (1 Hz–100 kHz, 10 mV, 20 mM K3[Fe(CN)6] / 1 M KNO3) and OD600.
- Functionalised Au SPEs (alumina polish → electrochemical cleaning → MPA SAM in 75:25 EtOH:H2O, overnight) with anti-E. coli antibody via EDC/NHS coupling (4 µg/mL, 2 h) and 1% BSA blocking.
- Operated Autolab PGSTAT302N; extracted charge-transfer resistance Rct via Randles equivalent-circuit fitting as the primary quantitative metric.
- Screened 6 candidate variables for inter-batch drift and identified the polishing-to-SAM interval as the dominant factor — reducing cross-batch RSD from 30%+ to 12%.

- Translating the SURF #1 EIS sensor into a field-deployable E. coli water-quality platform; owning the anti-E. coli antibody immobilisation on gold working electrodes and the wet-lab LOD performance.
- Drove PoC-to-product engineering: pushing lab-scale single-point EIS toward a deployable prototype while balancing electrochemical stability, iteration cadence, and cross-functional resource priorities.
- Represented the team at the 15th "Challenge Cup" China College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition (provincial round) — led technical Q&A and the roadshow pitch.

- Led a 3-person wet-lab team; designed a shared Google-Sheet booking system with 7 AM priority shifts to resolve Autolab potentiostat contention, raising equipment utilisation from 60% to 90%.
- Diagnosed and resolved a critical RSD rebound (12% → 28%) two days before the mid-term presentation by tracing it to a contaminated EDC/NHS batch and switching back to a known-good lot.
- Owned the full electrode-modification workflow and Randles-circuit EIS analysis; produced a complete dataset and draft manuscript.
